Which one offers better privacy?
TorGuard claims that they do not collect any logs. NordVPN also claims to be a no-logs VPN, but they collect logs such as connectivity information, username and timestamp of last session status, etc.

Which one is faster?
We downloaded many files to see which VPN is faster. NordVPN’s Nordlynx protocol was the fastest, followed by TorGuard’s OpenVPN - UDP, NordVPN’s OpenVPN - UDP, and TorGuard’s OpenConnect - UDP protocols.
Which one is better for downloading torrents?
We downloaded small, medium, and large torrents twenty-five times each to see which VPN is better for torrenting and P2P. NordVPN’s Nordlynx was the fastest, followed by their own OpenVPN - TCP, OpenVPN - UDP, and TorGuard’s OpenConnect - UDP protocols.

Which is better for geo-unblocking Netflix?
We tested NordVPN and TorGuard to see if they would let us watch geo-blocked Netflix content in fifteen countries. NordVPN unblocked Netflix Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Japan, Netherlands, United Kingdom, and the United States.
TorGuard didn’t unblock Netflix in any country.
Which one has better features?
TorGuard has better features than NordVPN. They allow up to eight simultaneous connections while NordVPN allows only six. Also, they have kill switches on more platforms than NordVPN.

NordVPN offers live chat support, while TorGuard offers only email support.
Which one is more trustworthy?
TorGuard, NordVPN, and Viking VPN underwent a server breach back in 2017-18. However, the users of any of these VPNs were not informed about it until late 2019, when a security researcher disclosed it on Twitter. Both TorGuard and NordVPN released statements about the incident quickly.
TorGuard, in their statement, made it clear that VPN traffic was not compromised since they were practicing secure PKI management. NordVPN, in their statement, said that there are no signs that the attackers attempted to monitor user traffic, and no user credentials were affected.

Which offers better value for money?
Considering the speeds and streaming compatibility, NordVPN offers better value for money than TorGuard. At the same time, TorGuard is much cheaper than NordVPN.
NordVPN’s one-month plan costs $11.95, a one-year plan costs $83.88 and two-year plan costs $83.76. TorGuard’s one month plan costs only $5.99, and the one-year plan costs only $29.99 after a 50% discount.
